Pananatili

Pananatili

Huwag mong naisin lisanin kita
Wala kong hangaring ika'y mag-isa
Sa'n man magtungo, ako'y sasabay,
Magkabalikat sa paglalakbay.

Mananahan sa tahanang sisilong sa'yo.
Yayakapin ang landasin at bayan mo.

Poon mo ay aking ipagbubunyi,
at iibigin ng buong sarili.
Sa'n man abutin ng paghahanap,
Ikaw at ako'y magkasamang ganap.

I remembered telling one of my friends, "Ang sipag mo naman mag-update ng blog."
"Baka malimutan ko kasi kaagad kaya sinusulat ko na."

Pondering about so many ideas is sometimes not good especially if you only keep them to yourself. I have a lot of things to tell and share to other people what happened in my comparative literature class, observations of regular and special schools, the film-showing of Alyana (a child with autism), friends in educ and ICTUS...they just keep on coming. But, somehow, articulating my thoughts on paper seems to be too difficult that I stopped writing...at least for awhile.

The first time I heard "Pananatili" was during our first CSC choir prayer session for the year 2007. For some reason, my closest friends are the ones who come first into my mind as I listen to the song. There are times that we don't see each other that often. That's inevitable. But somehow..you can still feel their presence anywhere. You'll find yourself suddenly laughing or smiling because of that memory.

Pananatili. Not everyone can retain friendship for a long time. As Saint Augustine said,
"Some things are to be enjoyed, others are to be used, and
there are others which are to be enjoyed and used.
Those things which are to be enjoyed make us blessed.
Those things which are to be used help and, as it were, sustain us as we move toward blessedness in order to gain and cling to those things which make us blessed.
If we who enjoy and use things, being placed in the midst of things of both kinds, wish to enjoy those things which should be used, our course will be impeded and sometimes deflected, so that we are retarded in obtaining those things which are to be enjoyed, or even prevented altogether, shackled by an inferior love."

Hope I could write more or make time to write in this blog. My writing skills are becoming too rusty. Haha. Let's just see how it goes.
